Let go!


SOMETIMES I am tempted to cling to blessings received during times apart instead of vigilantly seeking God in the ordinary tasks and times of my life. For almost six years I lived with a small monastic community, and I often yearn for its healthy daily rhythm of prayer, work, study, and recreation. “Let go!” says God. “That was then; this is now. Walk with me on the sacred ground of the present moment, and you will find me in some unexpected places.”

The Presentation of Our Lady in the Temple

The solemn dedication of the Church of the Mother of God near the Temple in Jerusalem took place on November 21, 543; this felicitous association of the Mother of God with the Temple supports the ancient tradition of the Blessed Virgin Mary's presentation in the Temple as a child.
